About the Workshop

The Albemarle Region Offender Referral Services Program is pleased to sponsor a FREE one-day workshop on addiction and the family, domestic violence, the re-entry of offenders from prison back into the community and the resources available to them.  As a community, we all have the responsibility of being aware of ongoing societal issues and being proactive in the establishment of continuing care.

Target Audience

This workshop will benefit a broad range of professionals and individuals.  Those who work in substance abuse, private practice, social work, criminal justice, courts, schools, faith community and domestic violence may find this workshop helpful.  Any interested individual is welcome to attend!

Program Location

This program will be held at the College of the Albemarle in Elizabeth City, NC.  THERE IS LIMITED SEATING AVAILABILITY FOR THIS PROGRAM SO PLEASE RSVP IMMEDIATELY!

Credit

Certificates for contact hours will be provided at the completion of the workshop.  You MUST attend the entire workshop to receive contact hours.  Certificates must be picked up at the conclusion of the workshop and will not be mailed.

About Our Presenters

Lisa Butler Creef, LCSW, LCAS received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Old Dominion University and her Masters in Social Work from Norfolk State University.  She has worked with the Offender Referral Services Program since 1997 serving in the capacity of Substance Abuse Counselor.  She also has a private practice in Elizabeth City.  She has worked in the substance abuse field for over 25 years.

Michael M. Furey, CSAPC, CCJP is the Director of the Offender Referral Services Program, a position he has held since 1995.  He received his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from ECSU.  He served on the North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board from 1999 to 2005.  He is a graduate of the UNC/CH Governor’s Academy for Prevention Professionals (GAPP) and has worked in the substance abuse field for over 23 years.

Jim Willis, MS, LPC, LCAS, CCS, CCJP is a private consultant, trainer and clinical supervisor.  He has a Masters Degree from ECU and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in both VA and NC.  He is also a CARF Surveyor for behavioral health programs.  He has worked in various substance abuse, mental health and criminal justice populations and was a former adjunct professor for ECU.  He is a past President of the Substance Abuse Certification Alliance of VA (SACAVA) and he has over 25 years in the field of behavioral health treatment specializing in addictions, mental health and criminal justice treatment modalities.

Holly Wilson, M.Ed, NCC, CFC, LPC has her graduate degree in counseling and education from Clemson University.  She holds a national certification in clinical and forensic counseling and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in NC.  She has a private practice in Elizabeth City and is also the co-facilitator of the Domestic Violence Accountability Program with Offender Referral Services.  She has worked in the field of counseling for over 20 years.
